Ried Klaus

South-South-East facing, between 290m and 300m altitude, arranged in an amphitheatre around an old hut, on the upper boundery of Klaus. Migmatite-amphibolite is the sub-soil of these upper terraces. An ancient Fruehroter Veltliner is planted at the side of the hut. Riesling and Zweigelt vines of 20-30 years. Ried Klaus is famed for being one of the best Riesling slopes in the Wachau.
